Pat Austin - Interim Director
Valencia Fields - Office Manager
Valencia is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She has worked in corporate America for 20 years. She is a mother of four children. Working for The Learning Academy of College Park has provided her with great joy; just being around the children is such a pleasure for her. She loves their honesty and their creative thinking.
Ivy Young-Culberson - Teacher
Ivy comes to The Learning Academy with approximately 30 years of early childhood education experience. She has managed early childcare centers such as Bright Horizons, Little Flyers, and others. In previous years, Ivy has worked as teacher, program coordinator, and director. She has great respect for the multitude of creative learning experiences that we, as adults, share with children as they develop and learn through their play.
Kenya Dorsey - Teacher
Kenya came to Georgia in 1991 from Alexandria, La. A mother of three children, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. She joins the Learning Academy with nine years of experience working in childcare facilities.
Lorraine Gray - Teacher
A native of College Park, Lorrie has five years of early childhood teaching experience and currently teaches part-time in the Terrific Twos. Lorrie's dedication to teaching and caring for young children is evident. She is the loyal babysitter for many families in the College Park area! She is a certified Early Childcare Teacher.
Anna Mayhew - Teacher
Anna is ecstatic about her work at the Learning Academy. She earned a BA from Atlanta Christian College where she majored in Biblical studies and minored in music and Christian education. Anna discovered her passion for young children while working at Christian City's Children's Village, where she cared for children whose previous homes were anything from disturbing to desperate. She also worked at Southwest Christian Care as a pediatric nursing assistant with special needs and medically fragile children. She is newly married and attends College Park First United Methodist. She is a certified Early Childcare Teacher.
Ann E. Morgan - Teacher
Ann is originally from Louisville, Ky. and has lived in Atlanta for 20 years. She received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Louisville where she majored in psychology. After spending more than 20 years in corporate America, she left her job to pursue teaching young children, and has spent the last eight years fulfilling this dream teaching ages 2, 3, and 4 years. Ann believes that reading is fundamental to the success of young children in school. She ensures that each child is read to out loud daily from infants to pre-K, and loves watching their reactions to the stories.
Lula Morrow - Teacher
Lula Morrow recently new to the Atlanta area. She has 5 years in childcare and is currently certified as at CDA. She enjoys reading, cooking and watching television, but most of all teaching.
Joyce Smith - Teacher
Joyce has 10 years of experience working with children of all ages. She has an A.A. degree as a paralegal, and would love to one day practice family law.
Shasta Stevens - Teacher
Shasta Stevens recently graduated from Atlanta Christian College with her BS in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Biblical Studies. She did her student teaching at a Kindergarten in Tyrone, Ga. She recently moved to College Park and is enjoying living so close to her job.
Melanie Stewart - Teacher
Melanie Stewart graduated from Atlanta Christian College in 2010 with a degree in Counseling & Human Services. She spent all her extra classes learning the ins and outs of working with children. She looks forward to working with the children at TLACP and watching them learn & grow! She is a certified Early Childcare Teacher.
